My Journey
Who am I?
I’m Alejandro, a guy who loves to travel, learn new languages and make good friends.
I spent the most part of 2014 in Rio de Janeiro working for 5 months in a hotel, 1 month in a call center during the Fifa World Cup and 1 last month working in a hostel.
In the last days of my stay in Rio I started to feel like it was time to move on and do something different, so I planned a bus trip back to Peru that was supposed to last 1 month and I would go across a few cities; however it was impossible to stay just a few days in some of the most beautiful cities of the world like Florianopolis or Buenos Aires, so my journey finally lasted 79 days including 9691 km by bus. During this journey I made so many good friends and met people with amazing stories, some of these people worked online, traveled the world jumping from one country to another learning new languages and discovering amazing places, these people were digital nomads.
This was an EUREKA moment for me because I was looking for a way to travel and work at the same time so I decided I’d become a digital nomad; this isn’t as easy as it sounds if you don’t have some notions of digital technology, however I consider myself as an autodidact, I learned English and French on my own and I’m convinced that nowadays you don’t need to spend money on courses to learn the skills you need to achieve financial freedom and work remotely, so this wouldn’t be the first time I’d learn something from scratch.
Why am I doing this?
My main goal in backpackpreneur.com is to inspire you to pursue your dreams by showing you how I’m pursuing mine from the bottom; right now my only asset is my determination and conviction that no matter what I’ll become a digital nomad.
Some of my posts will displayed in form of infographics so that everything is clear for you, I’m also publishing some articles and videos about my South America bus trip back home and some tips that every traveler should know to get the most out of this amazing experience called traveling.
This journey is just starting but I’m sure it will be the beginning of something incredible that for sure will change my life and why not will change your life too!
